And OMG - did I think accounting and finance was boring, which is why I left to start my own businesses in real estate and then in coaching and training. But even as my businesses grew in success I was still making investments that put me to sleep.I was adding money to funds that my broker or some other 'experts' recommended without researching anything. Really, all I would do is look at my statements once a year and realize that once again I was making next to no interest on my investments. And I thought that's how it just was. Finance and investing is boring and hard to understand. But then I started to get more aware and worried about what was going on in the world. *We are killing our planet.*Children are being forced into labor.*Women are still being paid less than men.*BIPOC are getting even less.Was I helping or hindering those issues with my investments? I was probably not helping to solve those problems since I had no idea what companies these funds were investing in or how they chose their investments. And I didn't want to stand for that anymore. I wanted to do good with my money. I wanted to support ethical and sustainable companies that were focused on making the world a better place while making a profit too. And the more I looked into this the more I realized investing can be fun. And the more fun I had with my investments the more money I made from them in return.
