About Jacqui Larsson Fga Dga

I didn't choose diamonds- diamonds chose me. It's in my DNA. My professional career began as a chartered accountant, however I took advantage of a career break to indulge in studying gemmology and diamonds with the Gemmological Association of Great Britain. Not because I had a vocational intent- but simply because I had a lifelong fascination with diamonds and gemstones. It was an instant epiphany- all consuming and I can't imagine doing anything else.In addition to being a Fellow and Gem Diamond Member of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, I undertook a five month internship at the DTC (Diamond Trading Company) studying the diamond supply chain, sorting rough and polished diamonds and rough to polished strategy.I was awarded the prestigious Deeks Diamond Prize in 2008 as best global candidate in the diamond diploma exams, and founded an independent jewellery business in 2006. Experience in London and Amsterdam has created an enviable network of niche contacts and artisans.As a Council Member of the London Diamond Bourse, I am directly involved in the strategy and future direction of this prestigious institution.Almost two decade’s experience as an independent jeweller fine tuned my sales and collaborative client skills. Acutely aware of the ethical and accountability issues within the sector and the challenges of incorporating robust traceability products within the complex diamond and coloured gemstone supply chains, I became increasingly aware of technology to provide solutions for both market participants and consumers.Working with clients in the luxury and manufacturing sectors to meet their unique needs is now my professional priority. My former auditing background combined with my diamond skills uniquely positions me with an innate understanding of system controls and risk assessment, and how and where to introduce diamond traceability technology to maximise a client’s traceability and provenance objectives. Furthermore, it is inspiring to explore with clients how Opsydia’s pioneering sub surface nano inscription technology adds value to both their product and brand- offering patented IP protection solutions.
