JacquiPaterson.com is a professional parenting and lifestyle blog, established in 2009 (formerly Mummy's Little Monkey, one of the UK's first 'Mummy Blogs').I am well known, trusted and firmly enmeshed in the UK social media and parenting community. This unique insight - backed up by 18 years writing professionally for consumer magazines - allows me to see, predict and react to blogging trends, ensuring my content always remains fresh, relevant and interesting.In addition to my own organic blog content, I take pride in crafting high quality, relevant commissioned posts for clients. I have been a features journalist for over 20 years, specialising in true-life, parenting, lifestyle and travel. My freelance work has appeared in most of the UK's top glossy print magazines, including Cosmopolitan, Red, Psychologies, Essentials and The Guardian's Weekend magazine. Reacting to the shift in consumer demand and the industry, I began focusing increasingly on digital journalism and blogging. Since 2012 my writing been almost exclusively for digital publications and social media sites, such as Reach PLC, and my own professional blog, JacquiPaterson.com.

As social media manager for several established consumer brands, I was responsible for the implementation and management of all social media activity. Previous chicken/egg clients included Bahlsen biscuits and Pilot Pen UK. This included helping to forward plan all social media promotions, campaigns and competitions for the year ahead. I helped to find and hone the right voice for each individual client or product, then implemented the social media plan via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and company blogs. I used my experience and position in the parent and lifestyle blogging community to devise and execute all blogger outreach programmes, and utilised my own substantial presence on Twitter and Facebook to complement client campaigns (where appropriate). I was also responsible for building followers and increasing engagement.

In this role I was chiefly responsible for writing first-person features for Real magazine. I commissioned stories, organised freelancers, edited freelance submissions and prepared feature briefs.

I spent six months as a senior features writer for That's Life magazine, where my duties predominantly consisted of chasing, and writing first person features.

I spent two and a half years with the Sydney-based version of That's Life! magazine. My role consisted of chasing, researching and writing first person features.
