I am passionate about the arts and the future of youth as well as the roles we play in helping our communities prosper. While studying at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, I obtained a Bachelor’s in General Studies with an Art Concentration. In conjunction with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, I also obtained a certificate in nonprofit management. Through the certification process at UNO, I acquired hands-on experience with grant proposals, donation requests, volunteer recruitment, and event coordination. As an intern for The Cornerstone Foundation in Belize, I taught art lessons at area elementary schools. Over the 3 months I served at the schools, I was able to witness the impact art can have on both students and teachers. It positively impacts self expression and esteem as well as develops strong problem solving, team building and communication skills; all of which are essential in becoming a successful individual and engaged member of the community. I am also an active member in the art community. I have participated in several group arts shows. Some of which have benefited local charities, such as Heart Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
