My name is Jada Chavis and I am a comic artist/illustrator/character designer. I graduated from The Art Institute of Virginia Beach with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts Degree where I majored in Media Arts and Animation in 2019. I continued my education at Savannah College of Art and Design (Atlanta Campus) where I received my Masters in Fine Arts Degree in Sequential Art in 2022. There I created several personal and academic comics such as Kavanna Feline, The Last Monster, Drunk Night Bold, and a few others. In the process of my education experience, I developed many skills both digitally and traditional that can be transfer to any art related field such as graphic design, storytelling, and animation.In 2023, I was a vendor at a few local events such as Iconi Con, 757 K-pop Pop Up (both at Suffolk Public Library), Williamsburg Library Comic Con (Williamsburg Regional Library), and Kpop Daebak (Slover Library). I meet several other artists and vendors, and after those events I opened an Etsy shop to sell my artwork and crafts.I work with software programs Clip Studio Paint, Procreate, Storyboard Pro, and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator.) I work with traditional methods such as traditional inking and coloring.
