In college I thought I'd be doing biomedical research for a living. Turns out that research is a touch slow for my liking. Also turns out that writing code and leading software teams is rather fun. Besides having witnessed more knee replacement surgeries than any other engineering manager that I know, I also have a bunch of experience in the tech space. I've led multiple teams of software engineers in a variety of industries, such as healthcare, government, and fintech. My IC credentials include building and architecting new platforms in python and javascript, using AWS and GCP. I've jumped in and worked on projects that have been going on for 5+ years and have also designed and implemented greenfield projects. Some of these include:- Led and architected the development of a new Marketplace platform for existing customers of our app- Designed the data analytics pipeline for healthcare professionals to submit patient information to the government- Led and architected C-suite immersive training tool to have them better plan and deal with cyber attacks- Designed and built software for blade engineers to submit/analyze/view their data easilyAs a Manager, I've led a spectrum of teams, ranging from 3 to 15+. I'm proficient in Agile and Kanban. I've also had to deal with multiple levels of stakeholders, both internal and external, who can sometimes not always have realistic expectations. I've presented to extremely technical and to non-technical audiences, to ensure my team gets what it needs to deliver on time. Overall, I feel that an effective engineering manager should be a strong technical leader with excellent communication, project management, and strategic thinking skills. These are the skills I focus on and believe I bring to the table. I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention my non-software experiences, including leading an R&D blade design program for a small helicopter manufacturer. I also was a product manager for a medical device company creating artificial hips and knees. These experiences helped me gain knowledge of how to deal with extremely diverse cross-functional teams with a wide array of skills and backgrounds. I'm also an excellent baker.

This included a python backend and javascript frontend.
