This role involved being the first point of contact for leaseholder’s and dealing with all aspects of their disputes with regards to their ground rent payments, issues with their lease, and relationship with their Landlord. Liaising directly with leaseholder’s throughout each stage of the case advanced my communication skills and problem solving abilities.

As a legal assistant, I was responsible for processing new legal instructions sent over by clients on the firms online case management system and creating detailed physical files to be stored in the office for each case. Part of this process included obtaining land registry documents and researching past cases to establish any errors or anomalies and reporting these to management when necessary. Additionally, I was responsible for spreadsheeting accurate information on Microsoft excel for each case in order for fee earners to be provided with precise information. I was also responsible for providing a full case review prior to issuing legal proceedings and communicating with mortgage lenders via telephone and post regarding their customers account once proceedings had been issued.
