Currently a doctoral candidate at the Graduate Center at CUNY, my primary concentration is in political theory and philosophy, specializing in critical theory, Hegelian dialectics, and psychoanalysis. In addition to my studies, my fellowship allows me to serve as a Research Assistant within the Graduate Center and as a Teaching Fellow at Brooklyn College.At Ithaca College where I conducted my undergraduate studies, I majored in Politics and had minors in French, Business Administration, and Legal Studies. Graduating magna cum laude, I was able to excel in these fields and applied my knowledge to a variety of experiences, such as studying in Paris in Fall 2022. My final research project of my academic career at IC culminated in "Enjoy It: An Analysis of Hegel's Master/Slave Dialectic." Analyzing the dialectic and its more contemporary interpretations, I was able to apply this framework to ontologies that are increasingly ever present in our daily life, such as race, class, and sex. As power relations within these identities continue to occupy the forefront of our minds, I utilized Hegel's notion of recognition to reach a more Lacanian conclusion regarding the slave position.
