Originally starting with hard copy material such as leaflets, timetables and press ads this job role has developed into online marketing including social media. Using Google Analytics and other data I research the key market segments for campaign creation within brand guidelines.Hard copy marketing examples:Timetable and Guide with a print run of 200,000 plus contracting to external distributers.Collaborative projects with external stakeholders such as Big train, Little Train with South Eastern and Heritage Railways with Visit Kent.Trade shows and exhibitions i.e. Excursions and Kent County ShowDigital marketing examples:Implementation of V-Ticketing ticket sales.Current tender and production of new website (live from August 2018) to improve reactiveness, adaption and interactivity based upon the statistical content of Google Analytics feedback. Social media management including- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat and YouTube (Paid and organic). In 2017 our Twitter reach held over 200k impressions in one month and is now verified.MailChimp newsletters and mailings in line with GDPR.The marketing role requires an excellent knowledge of HR and Press and has led to building excellent press contacts and maintaining press relations which are critical to building great brand coverage and this includes working with relevant magazines such as Steam Railway and BBC History but also national papers such as the Independent and the Sunday Express. This role requires constant content searching and scheduling.Working within a small department but a large business over over 100 paid staff and volunteers requires excellent project management skills focusing on deadlines and deliverables.In addition to the marketing tasks I also cover polices such as Social Media Policy, Privacy Policy, and GDPR.
