In the 1990s, my parents immigrated from the Philippines with one goal: to provide better opportunities for their children. I was fortunate to grow up in suburban Houston, TX, and eventually earn a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. I was on the traditional career path, working through engineering classes, aiming for a stable job and a steady climb up the corporate ladder. But in 2020, everything shifted. I encountered the Southwestern Advantage internship, and it completely changed my worldview. I realized that leadership isn’t just about technical expertise—it’s about mastering the art of sales and recruiting, the skills that build connections, create influence, and develop people. I found fulfillment in the process of deeply impacting others, just as my mentors had done for me.Fast forward five years, and I’m now passionate about "human engineering"—leading, mentoring, and developing people. As an organizational leader at Southwestern Advantage, I have the privilege of recruiting, coaching, and building high-performing teams. I've helped students with no prior sales experience transform into top producers, all while leading by example and maintaining my own high level of production. My mission is simple: to help others develop the skills and character they need to achieve their goals. At the end of my life, I want my success to be measured by the number of lives I’ve impacted along the way.
