As well as paid work I have volunteered in the local community, from helping at children's clubs to being a secutary for a local group.After leaving school I spent some time working in bars to gain experience with working as a team an with customers face to face and it has also given me some good experience on diffusing situations. As well as providing some extra income to help me get through college. After college I started to do some respite care for a little girl with downs syndrome and it was such a rewarding experience to be such a big part of her life and to help her and her family to support her needs and help her develop her independence as she grew and she has grown up to be a very independent, strong minded and caring young girl. During this time I also worked as an Apprentice administrator and learnt a great deal on policies and procedures within the work place, form data-protection to equality and diversity and many more. I also learnt a lot about health and safety, working with others within and out of the company, recruitment and supporting young adults. After my apprenticeship I gained my first job as a Preschool room leader and I have worked as one since. As a room leader I love to care for the children and help them to develop to the best of their abilities. Working with children is not just painting and playing in sand, there is a lot of paper work involved in planning, observing and tracking children's progress and ensuring all my staff have the time to do so too. As a room leader I understand the importance of safegaurding children, equality and diversity and having good communication skills and prioritiesing your own and others work load. During all my experience I have undertake multiple course to help with my professional development from behaviour management to customer service and teamwork courses. I pride myself on being a hard worker and I intend to learn as much as possible about any job role I am offered.
