EducatorJade! Jan 2001 - PresentWorldwideAs a teaching artist of both youth and adults, I facilitate The Big 15 curriculum components (which I also created). The goal of The Big 15 is to encourage self-expression and self-actualization in activities that inherently preserve our cultures and document our communities. The Big 15 engages participants and supplements academic goals by providing creative alternatives to conventional instruction. Each curriculum component includes multimedia resources (print, audio, film and web) and interactive activities that encourage youth toward critical analysis of the topic while conducting their own, personalized investigation beyond the confines of the classroom.SAMPLE RESIDENCIESProject YesCommunity Partnerships 06/18 - 03/20Young Adult Internship Program Ecumenical Community Development Organization 08/11 – 04/13The Will to Adorn Smithsonian Institution 11/09 – 04/14Community Folk Culture Program Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center 01/07 – 04/14Wright Center – NYC Parks & Recreation Community Works 11/06 – 07/09High School for Math, Science & EngineeringCommunity Works 03/06 – 05/09Junior Scholars Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture10/05 – 05/06Stevenson High School Pathways for Youth Boys & Girls Club 02/02 – 06/04Frederick Douglass Academy II Community Works 11/02 – 01/06Columbus High School Pathways for Youth Boys & Girls Club 02/02 – 06/04
