I was responsible for running sealing sessions with buying teams and identifying technical and quality issues with products at development, red seal and gold seal stages across all categories, including textile/soft furnishings, decorative home accessories, kitchenware, home fragrance and luggage. My responsibilities included liaising with suppliers to ensure our supplier audit information was up to date and correct and ensuring that suppliers were registered to use the SEDEX database. The role also required me to ensure that our products are tested to meet House of Fraser standards as well as any legal requirements, and to ensure that product care labels and warnings are correct. This included ensuring textiles suppliers arranged and submitted testing using the Interlink system. I also ensured that our product technical files were up to date and products approved technically in line with the critical path. As part of my role, I was also required to keep up to date with the current market and competitors and carry out analysis of other retailers offerings within their homeware departments. I also looked after the returns and refunds database and liaised with stores to investigate quality issues and recalls. -
