In January 2014 I set up my own tutoring business called Spanish Lessons Midlothian and now teach 15-20 lessons per week to people of all ages and abilities. I have recently begun tutoring French too and hope to continue to expand my business. http://spanishbyjade.co.uk/. My goal upon graduating was to become a translator, however I knew that I needed more time to develop my language skills and confidence and I believe that after a year of tutoring, I am now ready to venture into the translation industry. I realise that Spanish is a very common language and the demand for translators is not great, however I think that my specialised degree sets me apart from other translators along with my competitive rates (stated in CV). I am extremely flexible and readily available to carry out a test piece. My response time is very fast and I believe that it is imperative to be punctual and well organised and these are skills that I have obtained through studying and working.

On the look out for new landlords and winning the business through marketing, social networking and appraisals. As the face of ELS I plan to expand the business as much as possible whilst gaining a strong reputation as an excellent letting agent.

The main aspect of my role was Co-ordinating all maintenance for around 400 properties. After 3 months of hard work somewhat overhauling the maintenance dept at ELS I was offered a promotion and accepted the position of New Business Manager.

As a Property Assistant, I dealt with everything from arranging the property viewing right through the application process and acting as point of contact thereafter for both tenants and landlords with a portfolio of around 100 properties. Working for a small firm gave me the opportunity to deal with the lettings side of Residential Letting as well as the maintenance side so I could go from taking a viewer's enquiry in the office to instructing an engineer to fix a boiler on the phone. I learned new things about property maintenance every day and used my previous marketing skills to keep the website up to date. A day in the office was never the same from one day to the next!

I had a summer placement as a lettings and lease administration assistant in 2011 and stayed on working part time when my 4th year of university commenced before returning at the end of my final year to begin another Summer placement. Working in the busy office environment at the peak time of year for lettings gave me key administration experience and the opportunity to learn important ad-hoc skills as well as a strong interest in the property market. I was responsible for the marketing and re-marketing all properties, dealing with email/phone call and reception enquiries, instructing to let boards up and down when applicable and organising the lettings negotiators diaries. I also dealt with cash and card payments, carried out lease signings and liaised with landlords and tenants on a daily basis. As a key member of the lettings team, I was relied upon to carry out tasks quickly and efficiently, which required multi-tasking and good time keeping. I thoroughly enjoy the busy office atmosphere and thrived on the fast-paced and target-driven environment.

As a cashier at the multi-million pound company, I excelled in my position, meeting all targets and gaining a good reputation with customers, staff and management. I had the responsibility of cashing-up my till daily and frequently dealing with large sums of money. Being given weekly targets of Executive Membership sales was a key aspect of the role and I consistently achieved mine.
