As the Executive Information Officer (EIO) at Metro Namibia, I drive the optimization and innovation of our IT systems, data architecture, and software development. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, my role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency and leveraging technology to support strategic objectives.Key Responsibilities:Systems Management: Overseeing the management and maintenance of our IT systems, including software and data infrastructure. I collaborate with stakeholders to resolve system-related issues promptly.ERP Expertise: As the resident expert on our ERP systems (Arch Retail, Arch Enterprise, Sage Evolution), I guide system capabilities, enhancements, and new process implementations. Business Requirement Analysis: Collaborating with business analysts to define and document business requirements for system enhancements or new features, and approving these documents before submission to vendors.Data Architecture and Analysis: Leading data architecture initiatives to ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of our data assets. I also develop and maintain custom SQL scripts and reports for data extraction and analysis.Software Development Oversight: Managing a team of software developers designing, developing, and deploying custom applications. I provide technical guidance and review code to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.Product Ownership: Acting as a product owner for custom applications, collaborating with stakeholders to define features, prioritize backlog, and drive product development.End-User Support: Providing expert-level support to end-users, addressing IT-related queries, Excel proficiency, and software issues.Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation within the IT department and across the organization.
