Headhunted into this role as the co-ordinator for this service, I oversaw the smooth running of the clinic. Organisational management was key for this role; I conducted the entire service, duties of which included ensuring that there were enough healthcare professionals for the number of patients, following up every referral made to the clinic, creating weekly reports for internal management, and presenting monthly reports to the external contracting managers. I was the lead administrator for the ophthalmology email inbox, therefore also being the point of contact for GPs across the area. I was the first point of call for every patient accepted into the clinic, and also liaised with several senior levels of management, therefore, excellent communication skills were essential.

At Edgware, I led a team of six employees, arranging their duties that had to be performed and monitored their rate of progress. I managed to rearrange workflow to reduce the amount of work from a six day backlog to daily completion. General duties involved healthcare records clerical work, and liaising with consultants. I also taught new users how to operate the NHS software, worked with consultants for medical audits and helped to reduce backlog in appointments.In what I do, I always stress the importance of process flow, efficiencies and work optimisation. As such, I was transferred to Barnet to improve the existing healthcare records department. As the sole clerk, it was necessary for me to be extremely well-organised; being very self-motivated, I set targets to improve the current system. I achieved all of my set goals to ensure that the clinics, both outpatient and surgical, are prepared one week in advance. This not only aided me in my work, and the efficiency of the clinics, but also doctors who were thus able to use these notes prepared in advance to proceed in their own patient diagnostics. I also improved the healthcare records department by organising the records' locations, and reducing the numbers of files missing.

Over the years, I progressed from waitress to acting manager; duties involved bar tending, hostessing, overseeing daily intake. It was here that I honed my skills at making new contacts and maintaining them, as it was parallel to customer relations.
