Management responsibilities over Enterprise Applications, (which includes the Waste Tracking System (WTS) (WTS is an Oracle forms and reports based software, with an Oracle 11g database, created and maintained at AMWTP to track nearly 65,000 M3 of nuclear and hazardous waste for treatment and disposal.) When Fluor Idaho took over ICP, all of the incumbent company documents needed to be consolidated and transitioned to Fluor Idaho.Worked with another project manager to successfully move the AMWTP Data Center from its old location to the existing ICP location.

Stood up the IT Quality group for Fluor Idaho. The IT Quality group initially consisted of the Software Testers from both incumbent companies. I worked with both incumbent groups to cross-train on the existing systems and create a testing department that could handle all software testing. The IT Quality group also provides oversight for creating successful IT projects by insuring that there is an acceptance testing component to all changes.

The WTS-ICS change group reviewed the priority, technical details and resources of changes required by both groups for joint projects.

Changed positions to the PAIT System Architect to fill a need for technical oversight of PAIT projects.Maintained Software Quality Assurance (SQA) documentation for AMWTP, and was point of contact during SQA audits.Developed and implemented a hybrid Agile approach for the WTS development group. WTS procedure is a waterfall methodology; however, we were able to institute Sprints, Code Reviews, and morning Scrums to improve the process. Acted as Scrum Master.Conducted a study of Software Change Requests (SCRs) and Software Data Change Requests (SDCRs) rework for the WTS group. Discovered that initial eliciting requirements were difficult, and a significant percentage of rework was due to insufficient or incomplete requirements. Instituted a process change for requirements review in the WTS Process.

Promoted to Software Engineering Manager, with management responsibilities of software projects for Business Systems and WTS development groups. The Business Systems Group maintains the Payroll, Procurement, Websites, and numerous other software applications at AMWTP. Responsibilities including, but not limited to:Planning and scheduling of change requests and projects.Requirements gathering for change requests and projects.Approval of work on change requests.Scheduling, approval and oversight of all software releases.Running weekly staff meetings, which are part project updates, and part technical discussion.Reporting, both verbally and written, to all interested parties, mainly management and DOE.Point of Contact for all software systems during audits.Monitors progress on all software development projects.

Named acting Manager for the WTS Group for six month period in 2011. AMWTP completed four major capital improvement projects simultaneously, all of which required software changes on the WTS system. While the regular WTS manager was given responsibility of the control systems portions of the projects, was given the WTS responsibilities. IT Department Project Manager for the 3114 Waste Processing Project. Developed the User Requirements Documentation and Project Schedule for the project, and served as the Subject Matter Expert for the WTS development team. Promoted to Senior Programmer. Single-handed developed software change request (SCR) 3158, which redesigned the way containers and treatment plans were created in WTS. In terms of numbers of software modules modified, SCR 3158 is the largest successful software modification completed by the WTS group. Subject Matter Expert for the Facility, WMF 628 Treatment Tent, and Inspection Station modules in WTS. Creating other software enhancements and fixes for WTS using Oracle Forms Builder, Oracle Reports Builder, and PL/SQL Developer. Performing USQ evaluations.

Rewrote the code and successfully completed SCR 2998 for the WTS. This change allowed a new way for compacted waste to be placed into shipping containers. The Senior Programmer that originally made the changes left the project before User Acceptance. User Acceptance Testing found the software changes to be inadequate, leaving the modifications to be rewritten.Member of the software team that developed the 311 Permit Modifications to WTS. The 311 Permit Modifications allowed AMWTP to streamline their process for characterizing waste, which required multiple WTS modifications.Earned the USQ qualification. Regular maintenance fixes of WTS, using Oracle Forms Builder, Oracle Reports Builder, TOAD for Oracle, and PL/SQL Developer. Creating scripts for data fixes using SQL and PL/SQL for WTS. Testing of WTS Software Change Requests, using step-by-step reports of testing. These reports included screen captures, documenting proper performance or errors in the software. These reports were reviewed as part of the Software Quality Assurance program at AMWTP.
