I conducted formulation and qualification of new and existing oilfield chemical products for offshore application using a variety of industry recognised procedures. This required an in-depth knowledge and experience of the Asset Integrity product lines including corrosion inhibitors, oxygen scavengers, biocides, hydrotest products, iron sulphide dissolvers and combined scale and corrosion inhibitors. I was responsible for managing multiple complex projects and tender recommendations from inception to completion while adhering to tight deadlines to produce high quality solutions and technical reports as well as presenting these findings to customers. The primary user of the white light interferometer for the team, allowing for imaging and quantification of pitting corrosion after completion of corrosion testing. In addition, I coordinated the maintenance and calibration of the laboratory equipment in accordance with ISO 9001 and participated in internal and external audits.

In this role I performed testing on production chemicals to ensure they were within quality control specification. I was also responsible for the adjustment of chemicals blends if they fell out with the QC specifications. Routine testing included measurements of density, specific gravity, pH, non-volitile residue, viscosity, particle count, FTIR, refractive index and titrations in a timely fashion. Calibration and maintenance of QC equipment was also required. Daily use of SAP to record QC data and control stock movement. Upon request, projects and investigations of problems encountered with chemicals were conducted for customers and written reports of the findings issued. Risk assessments, COSHH and QC testing procedures to be prepared, maintained and updated in order to conform to ISO standards (9001 and 14001).
