Work with Product Engineering, Production, Maintenance and Sales to create and commercialize products and processes that are sustainable and cost effective by reducing variation, enhancing equipment range and output capabilities as well as by supporting continuous improvement efforts through root cause analysis, lean principles and techniques.

Executed new product development programs that contributed to achievement of 20% of revenue in new product sales in 2010 and 2011 and ensured compliance of new and existing products to environmental and safety regulations as per DSG-Canusa's standard as well as customer specific requests. Managed an Engineering Technologist and Technician as well as a PEY student from the University of Toronto.

Mapped out and implemented new ERP system for routine and preventative work orders as well as conducted system training for personnel, management and IT. Liaised with operations and engineering to maintain work order priority and ensured proper tracking and record of all maintenance items. Also responsible for ordering and negotiating pricing on various equipment components and spare parts from suppliers. Supervised three Millwrights and one Electronic Technologist.

Designed week long 5S program to incorporate concepts as well as 5S implementation at targeted work centres and led training for operators as well as management. Maintained budget of $50K by working with operators to creatively implement 5S techniques and tools plant wide.

Represented ShawFlex in IAPA Safety Groups and managed the implementation of fifteen safety initiatives to gain the company three years of recognition towards the five year safety program. Assisted in scheduling shop orders to plant floor, maintained priority sequence given by Planner and Sales and troubleshot processing, material and product issues in order to keep the plant running efficiently.

Researched new technologies and used as a basis when working with customers to improve manufacturing efficiency. Programmed and troubleshot PLC and HMI programs for automation projects that included robot cells, CNCs, assembly lines and various pieces of manufacturing equipment.

Analyzed CNC lathe manufacturing process to determine critical components for tracking. Developed a database using Access and SQL to track program changes.

Organized the PPAP validation testing of a GM floor console. Helped to design improved screw bosses in a console body for GM to prevent damage at assembly line.

Supervised the integration and automation of 4 inline vision inspection systems onto extrusion lines for quality control resulting in the removal of the lines from CS1/CS2 containment.

Assisted management in determining ways to improve the efficiency of the Oakville Assembly Facility. Designed Excel spreadsheets for automatic analysis and interpretation of plant energy, waste and emissions data.

Responsible for supervising fast pace model rocket production and shipment. Reorganized model rocket inventory and balanced stock levels of required components and applied FIFO to old inventory. Trained new model rocket supervisor to take over at end of term.
