I believe that the role of a designer is as much about having your own point of view as it is understanding and articulating what others are seeing too. I'm responsible for ensuring that the visual story we’re telling is true to the team’s vision and the brand’s strategy. The most satisfying outcome for me is when I can go from a blank page to a design that is both well-crafted and executable. Conceptualisation is only half the task – I thrive on the doing as much as the thinking. My work is enhanced by change. Different briefs. Different mediums. Different creative partners. I believe I bring a common thread of empathy in terms of a user’s experience. Whether my output is physical or digital, at the end of the day it will be experienced by a human, and I want that moment to be seamless. Ultimately, I strive to make honest work. It needs to be functional, easy to understand, unforced. That’s not to say there’s not plenty of effort behind the scenes. More that when someone looks at something I’ve created, I’d ideally like it if they notice as little ‘design’ as possible – that it just feels right.
