I design and lead multi-session workshops and internships for Bronx high school students served by GEAR UP, a federally funded program. Past programs included themes such as ethnobotany, citizen science, protecting Earth's biodiversity, and a remote urban gardening summer internship, all while cultivating a love of plants and exposure to careers found in a botanical garden. I coordinate with diverse Garden staff members to provide students with "staff-mentor experiences."During the 2019-2020 school year, I facilitated a "Forest Fridays" preschool program on Garden grounds in partnership with Samara Community School, a local Bronx elementary school.I also support my GreenSchool colleagues and maintain our classrooms, including materials budgeting and inventory.
