My research activities focus on information management and tool interoperability for mechatronics systems development. I channel most of my results through the Eclipse Lyo open-source project, to which I am project lead and main contributor. I am also co-chair of the OASIS OSLC Lifecycle Integration Technical Committees.

• Being part of Tonium since its start-up phase, I have taken on a number of roles over my employment period; and have been engaged in the formation of its development processes & tools, as well as some organisational aspects.• Initiated the use of Scrum software development - and act as a Scrum Master - for a development project.• Act as a front-figure with technical responsibilities towards suppliers & partners.• responsible for Tonium’s IP portfolio, dealing with new patent applications as well as administrating existing ones.• Involved in the development of the backend infrastructure behind the Pacemaker.net community. This system requires the integration of a range of systems from PC-based software to Internet servers.• Responsible for the requirement specifications of the Pacemaker mobile-DJ product.• Architected, developed and deployed a scalable, distributed architecture for the handling of a data intensive network application.

• The main focus of my KTH employment after my PhD studies was on education projects, while maintaining some research activities through interactions with my research group. • I was involved in the Tempus Joint European project, Mekatron, for the development of a new Mechatronics Curricula at three Egyptian universities.• I was responsible and involved in the planning of new courses for the undergraduate Mechatronics education at KTH. This also included teaching duties of these courses.• I was responsible and involved in the planning of new courses for vocational education for a Car Electronics program. This also included teaching duties of these courses.

• Developed various modules for the web content management platform, Sytadel, from database management functionalities to user-oriented interfaces.• Duties also included customising, deploying and maintaining customer sites.• Took part in the early development of the http://www.faqts.com/ site.
