My internship with The Education Partnership has allowed me to combine areas of my background from PR strategy to design in support of its mission to serve under-resourced schools. My contributions in this position include:- Writing engaging stories for a monthly digital newsletter, highlighting TEP’s impactful work to over 8,000 subscribers with a consistent 40%+ open rate- Assisting in planning and executing events, including creating signage, setup, and capturing social media content- Developing content for Instagram and Facebook, enhancing community awareness and promoting events and opportunities at TEP- Designing graphics for TEP’s major programs- Conducting outreach efforts for supply drives and events, contributing to TEP’s community engagement- Producing and editing a video tutorial series for volunteer tasks using Adobe Premiere and planning deployment strategies to maximize reach and impact

As the Social Media Manager for Chatham University’s student-run media outlet, The Communiqué, my role involves creating and scheduling posts to highlight our stories and web content. I have expanded our Instagram reach to 4.3k accounts and grown our online presence, gaining over 550 new Instagram followers and over 280 TikTok followers.

Interning at Big Picture Media allowed me to combine my passions for music and PR by supporting publicists with tasks such as drafting press releases, creating press clips and press packs, updating client press reports and monitoring media coverage for over 15 clients. I handled confidential client information with professionalism and gained experience using Muck Rack to identify relevant journalists and media outlets to enhance press outreach and coverage opportunities across various entertainment sectors.

Working in Chatham University’s Office of Alumni Engagement, my role focuses on supporting alumni relations through a variety of strategic initiatives. I have utilized my organizational and planning skills to help orchestrate major events, create social media content, and manage essential data to support alumni activities. My work has included:- Helping facilitate alumni engagement initiatives/events, including Reunion Weekend, Homecoming and Lunch and Learns- Designing social media graphics with Canva while managing Instagram and Facebook accounts, improving engagement and broadening audience reach to 500+ accounts- Managing and organizing data including Alumni Association Board member interest, volunteer forms, class notes, and additional research duties and tasks as needed

During four consecutive semesters with Chatham University’s student-run PR agency, I gained practical experience working within a collaborative strategic communications team to execute real-world campaigns. My experience included creating and distributing press materials, developing social and digital media strategies, and providing branding and event support for clients including an education podcast, Chatham University’s Arts, Design & Communication department, and Just Films Pittsburgh. My other contributions included: - Conducting tailored community outreach resulting in collaborations with local organizations such as BePittsburgh and Blue Sky Kitchen & Bar- Assisting with coordinating Chatham University’s Art and Design Center Survey event, overseeing key logistics such as catering arrangements, poster distribution and on-site support capturing content for social media during the event- Designing a logo for the agency that was selected for implementation and creating a comprehensive strategy pitch deck presentation for the agency’s brand identity

Contributing to Backward Noise was my first endeavor into journalistic writing and interviewing. In this position, I had the opportunity to conduct interviews with emerging indie/alternative musicians, crafting their stories into compelling feature articles for both digital and print media.
