Geriatric Case Management is my new professional path. Why? Because it is the right time; I am now a Geriatric Citizen. I have hung up my Accounting and Finance hat. I work part time and volunteer part time in various capacities. Most of what I do targets one audience, our growing Geriatric citizenry. My favorite time is when I visit someone in their home environment, and I can help them, and I see a smile on their face. Of course, once in a blue moon, my client has a scowl. When that happens, I welcome the challenge to turn that person inside out. Somewhere inside, there is a smile. I know this. To keep my brain in balance, I volunteer at the other end of the age spectrum. I enjoy being a Catechist, and I have taught grades 1, 3, 4, 5. I have been doing this since 1996. From my perspective, I am most comfortable when working with the rather old or the rather young. The folks in between are either young enough or old enough to figure things out for themselves. In addition to my professional footsteps, I continue walk the walk of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. My me-time passion is reading. My life style is like an orchestra, the different instruments are my different activities. The ensemble plays a new medley every day. Faith is my Conductor. December 2014, I had the honor of being inducted into the Westchester County Senior Citizens Hall of Fame. Now I have SENIOR written all over me.My short term message: Focus on the brighter star. My long term message: Focus on the brighter star. There is always a brighter star somewhere.
