Assigned isolates to one of three genotypic groups delineated by SNPs in the genes katG and gyrA, which are implicated in izoniazid and fluoroquinolone resistance in mycobacteria respectively. Handled delicate human tissue, DNA extraction, cell lysis, buffer preparation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, use of hazardous chemicals for ethidium bromide staining, preparation of samples for sequencing at Cogenics (Essex, UK), genotyping.
