When I thought I was at the pinnacle of my success, I remember feeling extremely lonely and lost. I began to make decisions that were out of character, that hurt me, my career, and the most precious relationships in my life.What if I had a person at the time that I could have been honest with, someone who was willing to be honest with me about how I was really doing? Looking back, I lacked a good reflective surface that showed myself to me more accurately. As they say, “It’s hard to read the label from inside the bottle.” You see, the very qualities that allowed me to be successful were also the sources of my weaknesses and blindspots.That’s why, through executive coaching, I aim to help my clients better handle their success. So that at the end of their lives, they can looking back and say, “Now, that was a life worth living." Not because it was perfect. No. We are all humans. It’s just that we did our best to live more mindfully, healthfully, and meaningfully each fleeting moment of our lives. My journey to the field of executive coaching is unique and multifaceted. It began with a profound curiosity about the human body, leading me to pursue a degree in Molecular Cell Biology at UC Berkeley. Building upon this scientific foundation, I delved deeper into the human experience by pursuing a Masters in theology and church history. These studies ignited my interest in the spiritual and social dimensions of humanity.Continuing on this path, I immersed myself in the study of how prevailing ideas shape society. This passion led me to pursue a PhD in Intellectual History of the United States and Europe at Drew University in Madison, NJ. Throughout my academic journey, I gained a profound appreciation for diverse perspectives and a nuanced understanding of the human condition.My academic endeavors were enriched by diverse cultural engagements, notably my two decades serving as a Baptist minister across different continents. Collaborating across various worldviews, I cultivated a role of a 'bridge-maker,' fostering empathy and understanding amidst cultural diversity. My approach prioritized humanization over demonization, seeking common ground across differences.After living in Seoul, Hawaii, San Francisco, and New York, my family and I relocated to St. Louis, MO, in 2019. Today, I serve as the Managing Partner at Bespoke Compass, an executive coaching company. My inquisitive nature, fascination with the human experience, and lifelong pursuit of life well-lived have converged in my passion to help others live more fulfilling lives.
