Hi, I’m Jaegar.I am a second-year student at Dalhousie University, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a minor in Political Science. I am passionate about learning the tools that Economics provides to think about and craft solutions to big challenges. I enjoy the stimulating environment of collaboration with professors and peers.As a Legislative Page in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, I had the privilege of participating in democracy and witnessing the legislative process from the floor of the chamber. I collaborated with a driven team of Pages to ensure the smooth function of the House by preparing the chamber, distributing documents, getting beverages, and aiding with the function of the legislative committees. I also helped with the behind-the-scenes work of formal events, such as setting up and tearing down.I was the 2024 recipient of the Principles of Economics Prize, awarded by the Dalhousie Department of Economics, for attaining the highest average grade in the introductory sequence of economics courses, ECON 1101 and 1102.Long term, my goal is to help in whatever way I can to build up communities in Nova Scotia. Legislative PageGovernment Of Nova Scotia Sep 2023 - Oct 2024Halifax, Nova Scotia, CanadaI was honoured to participate in democracy and serve in this time-honoured position in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. I got a once-in-a-lifetime perspective to view the legislative process from the floor of the chamber; just like a fly on the wall. My duty was to ensure the smooth function of the House by preparing the chamber for sitting each day, distributing documents to members, getting beverages during debate, cleaning the chamber after each day, and collaborating with a driven team of Pages to achieve this. Outside of the chamber, I also frequently helped set-up and tear-down for events by “rolling up my sleeves” and performing much of the behind-the-scenes work of formal functions. I was lucky to be one of two Pages selected to attend a reception for the Council of the Federation meeting in November 2023. I also helped decorate the Christmas Tree at Province House in December 2023. -
