I was honoured to participate in democracy and serve in this time-honoured position in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. I got a once-in-a-lifetime perspective to view the legislative process from the floor of the chamber; just like a fly on the wall. My duty was to ensure the smooth function of the House by preparing the chamber for sitting each day, distributing documents to members, getting beverages during debate, cleaning the chamber after each day, and collaborating with a driven team of Pages to achieve this. Outside of the chamber, I also frequently helped set-up and tear-down for events by “rolling up my sleeves” and performing much of the behind-the-scenes work of formal functions. I was lucky to be one of two Pages selected to attend a reception for the Council of the Federation meeting in November 2023. I also helped decorate the Christmas Tree at Province House in December 2023.

As an Audio Video Technician, I was responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of the production of functions within the Portia White Auditorium at Cobequid Educational Centre. I worked alone much of the time, and I had many duties that I successfully balanced. I attained a final grade of 92% in Audio Recording and Production 12 in high school, which allowed me to take on this role. My duties included:•Set-up and tear-down concerts, presentations/conferences, and assemblies.•Utilize a professional sound and light board.•Learn about equalization, mixing, and live audio production. •Multitask by controlling projections and backing tracks on a computer along with sound or lights at certain events. •Proactively identify problems, solutions, and most efficient methods for tasks. With many factors like microphones, cables, computers, and more, problems can arise from many places.•Usher and clean up before and after shows.•Serve as a representative for Cobequid Eductional Centre for private renters of the Portia While Auditorium.

My duties were partially retail, and partially tourism-related. I always wanted to serve as a good ambassador for my community as the final point of contact in the Bakery - home to the famous bread, donuts, and cinnamon rolls. I developed my skills with a POS system, working in a very fast-paced environment, and customer experience.
