Social Science Researcher- Peer-reviewed an academic journal article for Armed Forces and Society, upon invitation. - Second Author, collected qualitative data from an open source to create an original dataset of 250 individuals, which resulted in a peer-reviewed journal article about a relatively less understood segment of population, private security military contractors in the US and the UK. Coded, categorized, and analyzed the data for regression analyses. Proof-read the paper for errors. Presented the findings at regional and national academic conferences. Co-author: Ori Swed, Ph.D.Graduate Researcher for Nontraditional Student Advisory Board. - Analyzed the university’s student enrollment data across multiple years to understand a subsegment of the student population at UT Austin, which we categorized as nontraditional. - Analyzed data, the findings of which produced an infographics handout, aimed at enhancing the understanding about UT nontraditional students. Our work informed the creation of a new child-care program for students taking exams on campus and student space for nontraditional students.- Edited and contributed to a conference proposal for a presentation at a national student veteran conference, 2020 Student Veterans of America. Collaborated with civilian nursing and admin staff to ensure smooth departmental operations. Revised the department's Standard Operating Procedure, which required a deep knowledge about the bureaucratic organizational structure of the department in relation to the rest of the hospital as well as the naval medicine. The work contributed to a successful passing of the Joint Commissions Accreditation inspection. Project Liaison, coordinated the Internal Medicine Department’s transition to a new hospital facility, a move consisting 30 staff, 30 clinic spaces and 50 IT equipment and 5 medical equipment of $500K in value. Patient Relations Representative, tracked and analyzed patient input from the hospital database for patient experience at the department, observed the trends and communicated the findings to the Department Head, recognized outstanding staff members, and resolved any conflict from patient-staff interaction. Cardiac SonographerUs Navy Mar 2011 - Apr 2015Washington, Dc, UsCardiovascular Technician, led the project to transition the cardiac monitoring services from in-house to a remote specialty service which resulted in a cost saving of $250K in equipment update for the hospital and an improved exam report turnaround time by 2 weeks on average. Cardiac Ultrasound Technician, conducted cardiac ultrasound to over 1000 patients and drafted and submitted study reports to Cardiologists working remotely in San Diego or Hawaii for adult and pediatric patients. - Documented the exams on the military-wide digital health record system, AHLTA and CHCS. Educated patients about the exam and the expected occurrence of events following the procedure. - Liaised between the military base beneficiaries (U.S. nationals and their dependents) and the local Japanese cardiology clinics to whom we relied for urgent and complicated cardiac procedures and surgeries. Electrocardiogram Rhythm Instructor, created a two-day course about ECG rhythm analysis and instructed over 50 medical staff, trained how to properly use a cardiac defibrillator device, both of which directly contributed to their Advanced Cardiac Life Support licensure. Contributed an op-ed piece to a military base periodical about health and wellness.
