Currently working on the linguistic and cultural adaptation of the C-BiLLT, a Dutch language comprehension test, into American-English and Norwegian. The C-BiLLT is designed to assess language comprehension in unintelligible or non-speaking children with severe motor impairments caused by Cerebral Palsy, the most common cause of childhood physical disability. As the test requires very little motor skills to respond to the items, it is innovative and unique in the world. Participants may use any means of responding that suit their abilities, e.g. a touch screen, or eye controlled technology. Clinicians and researchers in children's rehabilitation are enabled to reliably determine the level of language comprehension of every child. This opens up a world of new possibilities for diagnostics, treatment, and research. Responsabilities:- (co)leading C-BiLLT workshops for clinicians and researchers;- managing translation processes; leading group meetings;- training Research Assistants in proper administration of the C-BiLLT;- planning and executing validation studies;- data analysis.

Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of infants and children with: - swallowing and feeding disorders, resulting from various etiologies;- speech and language difficulties in children with intellectual disabilities commonly co-occurring with various neurologic or physical conditions.Participation on a specialized team dedicated to providing augmented and alternative communication sources to severely disabled children. Participation in research concerning spoken language comprehension in normally developing children as well as in children with (multiple) disabilities.

Comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients who are referred by other SLPs due to complex symptoms, stagnation of treatment, or for a second opinion. Developing treatment plans both on individual patient level as well as providing general information and support on evidence based treatments to all SLPs.

Providing all necessary care for children with developmental, communicative, behavioral and/or feeding problems on Aruba. Therapy was provided in their homes, with great emphasis on the transferability of the techniques used in therapy and the direct impact on their quality of life. With hardly any materials available, these treatments really were a family-therapist collaboration.

Assessment, diagnosis, and group and individual treatment of young children with various developmental speech and language and hearing impairments, such as complex speech sound disorders, late language emergence or autism spectrum disorders. Parent-counseling was a major part of our treatment.
