Similar to GraphQL, the protocol enabled Netflix apps to reduce parsing time by retrieving the precise set of data needed for a given use case (ie “demand-driven architecture”). Today Netflix apps use Falcor to send millions of requests a day.* As the sole Tech Lead in Netflix’s UI Engineering Org, collaborated with technical leadership in the Edge team to design and build a new platform which enabled Netflix UI developers to publish cloud services (API.Next). At the time, the platform was one of the largest scale systems to use Functional Reactive Programming (FRP). This enabled UI developers to declaratively build efficient concurrent, event-driven services free of race conditions.* Played a key technical role in Netflix's effort to improve performance of the app in developing nations. Worked with engineers on both mobile teams to help them leverage Falcor’s caching capabilities to improve startup speed. Achieved 10x improvement in startup time on the Android app.* Improved competitiveness of GE Water by developing a web-based equipment database as lead developer of a team. The software centralized pricing information across the business and improved the accuracy of project bids.* Primary developer of Silverlight Charts, the data visualization platform for Silverlight and WPF.
