Responsibilities include:- Analysing and reviewing monthly profit & loss and balance sheet statements. Discussing results with the business navigation department, working towards improving company controls and performance. - Main point of contact for auditors. Preparing consolidated financial statements, variance analysis on all balance sheet and P&L accounts across all group companies. - Create short and long term financial forecasts, specifically for negotiating credit lines with internal group financing company as well as external finance providers. - Main point of contact for tax advisors. Prepare group tax packs as well as calculate quarterly tax instalment payments. Perform calculations of PAYE settlement analysis which involves regular discussions with the payroll and HR department.- Other ad hoc tasks, including performing value in use calculations of certain cash generating units for impairment review purposes. - Main point of contact for the Office of National Statistics, providing data on various areas such as revenue, margins, departmental sales analysis and staff numbers.

Kenya & Baghdad

Spent 2 Weeks in Kenya shadowing Sollatek Ltd’s Kenyan branch personnel understanding the product and its distribution networks. Spent a further 6 weeks in Baghdad during which I assessed the Sollatek operation of the Iraqi branch and offered ideas on improvements to maximize sales based on my experiences in Kenya.

Scrutiny of the budgets and forecasts was necessary to evaluate the ability to continue as a going concern. - Catering industry - Involved planning, onsite audit including specific focus on accurate treatment of intra-group interest and compliance with thin-capitalisation rules. - Oil and gas industry - Involved the audit of complex areas specifically the treatment of available consortium relief. - Scrutiny of the budgets and forecasts was necessary to evaluate the ability to continue as a going concern.
