 Capacity building of value chain partners and coordination with the relevant projects, programs, and organizations. Assist the Provincial Program Coordinator-Hyderabad / Deputy Chief of Party in implementing project activities for addressing tomato and chili value chains development constraints including enhancement of produce handling and value addition capabilities of the target beneficiaries. Support DCOP/PPC-Sindh in developing and implementing work plan for the development of tomato and chili value chains. Plan and implement product specific value enhancement plans for tomato and chili by way of improvements in technologies and processes employed for production, postharvest handling, processing, packing, logistics (supply chain management and cold chain management), and marketing. Worked with DCOP/PPC-Sindh to design and implement training programs from farm to the processing plant level to optimize product quality and value for consumers. Worked with other project team members to support partners and beneficiaries, including farmer groups and exporters, to enhance their capabilities and capacities to address value chain constraints and thus enhance their profitability. Assist in designing of post-harvest handling systems to minimize produce wastage and ensure high quality, food safety, and higher returns to the farmers and other value chain partners. Support the project team in organizing trainings, meetings, workshops, field days, expositions, and other project related events. Promote farmer-market linkages to facilitate efficient and profitable marketing of produce and access to knowledge, inputs, technology, and credit. Assist project’s team in disbursement of grants to the beneficiaries of tomato & chili value chains in the project districts. Developed technical and progress reports as required by the project reporting arrangements.

 Provided support in implementing and reporting on project activities. Identified and engaged primary producers, such as tomato growers, food processors, agro-dealers, and other potential community members, to participate in project activities. Identified tomato producer groups and mobilization for training events. Organized and strengthened the tomato producer groups into viable community-based organizations. Coordinate the identification of needs for capacity-building and the subsequent conduct of trainings and related capacity-building activities for tomato producer groups and other project partners. Facilitate the access of primary producers to production capital through microcredit and related business development services. Assist in the development, promotion, and use of appropriate technologies related to agricultural productivity, marketing, and food safety. Identified, build relationships, and liaise with like-minded groups and/or entities, particularly those whose ventures are aligned with the project’s objectives, i.e., the value chain development of selected commodities. Represented Winrock International PAD-related events and meetings within the area of responsibility. Regularly gather information relevant to the project.

 Imparted training to cotton growers and farm workers on Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS) and good management practices for cotton crop according to training plan. Survey for selection of potential cotton farmers  Registration and successful capacity building of farmers and workers regarding best practices and Better Cotton Standard System (BCSS). Ensured to keep up to date record of field activities at Farm and Producer Unit level. Facilitate the farming community regarding BC production. Conducted and facilitate the cotton-picking trainings. Facilitate the growers for field practices record keeping. Facilitate the famers/growers to register and develop as producer organizations. Conducted the internal assessment of registered cotton growers. Prepared the fortnightly progress reports and submit to PU Manager. Collected seed cotton data (available and sold) and sharing with Producer Unit Manager. Prepared technical reports of cotton growers. Collected and verified result Indicator data (RI) from farmers.
