This allows the microalgae to be incorporated into all manner of food, pharmaceuticals and other use without changing the taste or smell into being less acceptable.Since raceway ponds can grow only a dozen or so species of microalgae, for the vast bulk of the microalgae species closed systems are needed. Fortunately, PBR systems can now produce algal biomass competitive with the cost obtained from raceway ponds.That opens up the door to the vast microalgae resource. The tropical parts of the world are heaven for microalgae, the climate and temperature are perfect year round and tropical countries have low costs.
