In my current role, I drive ethics and compliance policies for IBM's Business Partners and employees, and I have successfully maintained a satisfactory ethics and controls posture throughout Europe. I provide ethics and integrity education and share best practices for compliance with FCPA and other anti-bribery laws.Key accomplishments include:✔ Assist Business Partners in creating or improving their ethics and integrity programs by modeling best practices for commercial and government customers, codes of conduct, and by providing behavioral guidelines for IBM’s employees who work with Business Partners.✔ Conduct “Integrity Workshops” for Business Partners’ employees to ensure compliance with U.S. FCPA, the U.K. Bribery Act, and local anti-corruption statutes.

As the Channel Risk and Compliance Leader, I drove compliance with channel policies and processes by IBM’s employees and Business Partners in Asia Pacific, Greater China, Latin America, and Central & Eastern Europe. I designed and deployed policies and procedures to guide ethical behavior in high-risk environments and I implemented corrective action plans in response to audits and investigations involving IBM employees and Business Partners.Key accomplishments include:✔ Deployed special bid pricing compliance and grey market detection and deterrence measures.✔ Conducted ethics and compliance education for Business Partners and IBM's employees who work with them.

As the Manager of IBM's Global Business Partner Processes and Controls, I created a risk-based management system consisting of common global policies, processes, and controls for IBM’s worldwide Business Partner distribution channel. Established monthly “controls cadence” reporting to monitor compliance in all countries, regions, and geographies.Key accomplishments include:✔ Established a “firm transaction management” policy to deter channel stuffing by ensuring orders were placed by IBM’s distributors only after firm end-user orders were in place.✔ Re-designed and implemented a COSO-based controls framework for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

As the Manager of Global Incentives, I created a risk-based management system consisting of global policies, processes, and controls over IBM’s worldwide sales incentives. I successfully restored the global controls posture to satisfactory, following years of decline.Key accomplishments include:✔ Designed and implemented sales incentive plans for IBM’s direct and distribution channel sales forces. ✔ Established a common COSO-based controls framework for IBM’s global incentives processes and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, including monthly “controls cadence” meetings with country leaders.

As country leader, I led all sales, service, and support functions in IBM’s Philippines subsidiary. In this role, I stabilized financial performance following the dot.com era and Y2K demand bubbles.Key accomplishments include:✔ Improved revenue performance by enforcing distribution channel policies to increase competition among business partners at all levels (distributors, solution providers, and resellers). ✔ Rebuilt senior leadership team following key personnel losses and competitive defections.

As country CFO, I led finance, treasury, disbursement, procurement, and customer support functions. I also restructured Indonesian operations by closing the long-standing sole agency, transferring 300+ staff, and reincorporating as a wholly-owned IBM subsidiary.Key accomplishments include:✔ Reduced costs and complexity of IBM’s local operations and tax compliance by taking advantage of recent changes in Indonesian investment law permitting onshore operations of foreign-owned businesses. ✔ Guided IBM’s Indonesian operations through volatile political and economic crises, resulting from the Asian currency collapse and subsequent overthrow of the Suharto government.

✔ Led accounting operations in 10 countries comprising the ASEAN/SA region. Reengineered legacy accounting and business process control functions into a common framework, facilitating the transfer of revenue, cost, and inventory processes from individual countries to IBM’s first regional accounting center.
