- Lead the analysis and interpretation of human RNA-Seq data to uncover gene expression patterns.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate clinical data into actionable insights for disease research and therapeutic strategies.

This research aims to generate a Cannabis pan-genome composed of 12 novel high-quality, haplotype resolved, chromosome-scale genome assemblies, which is part of a Genome Canada-funded project to understand powdery mildew resistance and accelerate cannabis breeding.In this research, I use a combination of high-coverage PacBio HiFi reads, chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C), and genetic maps to produce two complete haplotypes for each genotype (24 genomes in total). The genomes I have developed are significantly better quality than those currently available for Cannabis, so my work represents an important advance for the Cannabis research and breeding communities.

My primary role is to answer evolutionary and plant breeding questions using a combination of statistical models, population genetics tools, and NGS data sets. I employ a large-scale sequencing data set from wild and cultivar sunflower germplasm, several genome assemblies, and transcriptome data sets for these researches.This project, along with intellectual resources in the Rieseberg lab, allowed me to acquire new population genomic, statistical, and computational skills and to deploy this skill set to recognize biologically interesting patterns and discover their evolutionary meaning.

Developing statistical models and algorithms to answer convergent evolution questions using 1800 wild sunflowers WGS data set. The main research questions can be categorized as follow: -The pattern of convergent and non-convergent adaptation among sunflower species; -The impact of selection, environment, and genome architecture on the patterns of adaptive evolution at the whole-genome level; -To identify the amount of genotypic redundancy underlying a trait adaptation; -The impact of recombination rate on detection of convergence signature; -To identify convergent islands based on genetic distance and linkage disequilibrium
