Jai Bhagat, a Wireless hall of Fame Inductee is a long time pioneer and entrepreneur in wireless communications. Currently he is Executive Chairman and co-owner of Hollywood Casting and Film. The company provides casting and production services for actors and production companies. Mr. Bhagat currently serves on the board or as advisor to several companies in the wireless and wireless healthcare sectors including eMedOnline, Tagnos, Haystack Technologies, and Owaves. For over ten years Mr. Bhagat was a Director and Vice Chairman of Axesstel, Inc, a developer of fixed-wireless products. Previously, he was a co-founder of SkyTel Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ Company). where he served as Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer prior to SkyTel's merger with MCI. Skytel’s transaction was valued at approximately $1.9 B. Prior to founding Skytel, he was a senior executive for Mobile communications Corp of America where he played a key role in the development and implementation of several cellular markets including Los Angeles and Houston. Mr. Bhagat has also served as Chairman of the License Exempt sector of the Wireless Communications Association International (WCA) , as well as Chairman/board member of both the Personal Communications Industry Association (PCIA) and American Mobile Satellite Corporation. He was inducted into the RCR Wireless Hall of Fame in 2002 for his significant contributions to the wireless industry. Past industry awards include the PCIA Chairman's Award for significant contributions to the development of wireless industry. the Radio Club Sarnoff Citation, PCIA’s Technology and Innovation of the Year, and RCR's Personality of the Year. Mr. Bhagat received an M.S.in Electrical.Engineering from Howard University, a B.S. in electrical engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, India, and completed the Executive Management program at Stanford University.
