At NMDOH I evaluate overdose prevention programs funded through the CDC OD2A grant, including collaborative efforts with sub-grantees. I collect and analyze data from primary and secondary sources on key indicators for programmatic activities. I collaborate with multi-sector stakeholders to create reports, data visualizations, and presentations of findings. The evaluations I conduct generate recommendations for program improvement and help to determine the impact of programmatic activities.

My role at Good Shepherd focused on community outreach and education, including working with local coalitions and advisory councils to promote community health. I was responsible for organizational participation in and planning of health promotion events, and ensuring health priorities were integrated into the healthcare system. I regularly created marketing materials to promote classes and events, developed and taught evidence based health education courses to community members, and wrote and reported on grants essential to program funding. I created curriculum for and taught community workshops on a variety of health topics including sleep, stress, and weight management. I obtained grant funding for and created/managed several successful prevention programs including: Northeast Oregon Prescription Trails, no cost rapid Hepatitis C screening and colorectal cancer screening, and no cost children's bicycle helmets. In this position I was able to work in a variety of leadership roles; I co-chaired the Safe Communities and Adult Health/Screening and Prevention sub committees, and interim chaired the Healthy Communities Coalition. I co-chaired the drug abuse response team and was a member of the Home-4-Hope coalition (addressing issues faced by people experiencing homelessness). I utilized existing data to create programs and objectives to tackle the most prevalent and pressing health concerns in the community. I assisted in the creation and implementation of the 2018 Umatilla County Community Health Needs Assessment and examined the resulting data to create a comprehensive Community Health Improvement Plan.

At UNM I was responsible for development of higher education curriculum, lecture delivery, and grading of courses within the HESS Department; including Personal Health Management, Injury Prevention, and Violence Prevention.
