Mentoring a single student during the first year of their degree at The University of Warwick.

The initiative helps to coach undergraduates in all aspects of life at university. I am involved by helping to present to groups of students about aspects of university life and answering any questions they may have. I was also involved with directly aiding students with assignments, lab reports and essays. With my help as well as others in the group, Biocafe attendance increased dramatically.

I have been involved in volunteering at Warwick BioSoc events including fundraising, setting up events and supervising multiple open day stalls.

I was involved in designing and creating biology resources (Lesson In A Box) for teachers that were uncomfortable in teaching biology at schools. After aiding in the creation of the resources we attended institutions to deliver the lessons to a class of students from schools in our area.

I worked as bar staff in the easter, summer and winter holidays. My work included moving stock and restocking items, washing glasses and utensils as well as serving food and helping to close up.

I completed a training course for UniAssist which is a organisation within Warwick University that aims to help individuals from lower income backgrounds attend university. I delivered a 30+min presentation to the students about my work and life at university and had a short Q&A session afterwards. We proceeded to casually chat to the students after this to ensure they had everything they needed to make a strong university application.

I volunteered at a charity retail store during which I was involved in sorting donations, selling items, overseeing the store and accepting and supervising deliveries.

I was responsible for aiding in the coordination and set up of extracurricular dodgeball sessions. After set-up I would oversee half of the cohorts gameplay while acting as the referee. After games and at the end of the session I would communicate to the teams what went well and what could be improved ready for the next session.

I was responsible for setting up, coordinating and leading childrens parties. This included football coaching and organising entertainment. This role was undertaken alongside A-Level studies.

I undertook an internship at the NHS Walsall Manor Hospital, overseen by the Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. During my time here we completed teambuilding exercises in large groups as well as workshops on interviews, job applications, medical simulations and surgery simulations (including keyhole surgery). I was responsible for assisting in the delivery of football and cricket coaching sessions with young people at schools in my area. We also took part in charity and advertising events on behalf of KHFC.
