• Evaluate and measure all financial and operational risks to which the company is exposed.• Estimate the VaR (value at risk) for each business unit and identify market variables that may cause potential losses, as well as take measures (derivatives, insurance and PO controls) to prevent market risk. • Define and operate with derivatives to guarantee future income without exposure to market volatilities, especially for commodities (coffee and cocoa), USD/COP and Swiss franc currencies. • Take a risk management advisory position for new project budgets, international credit hedging. • Generate forecast models that allow to establish some perspective on the future behavior of the main variables that move the business (TRM, NY coffee and NY Cocoa), contemplating macro and micro economic variables. • Perform financial analysis with market variables for the company and measure volatilities in the short and long term, and with this information build the FCF for the company and the Budget for the long term.Achievements • Create and develop the company risk area whose purpose is the measurement and mitigation of all risks for a company whose working capital worth 12 million dollars per month.• Contain the "Exposure" or maximum loss faced by the operation at $2 million USD in 2021 to what today could have been $5,5 million USD, using financial derivatives and operational strategies.• Negotiation strategies with the cooperatives to seek a profitable exit from open and defaulted stock market futures for coffee growers, given the volatility of NY prices for coffee and cocoa in 2021. Those defaulted future contracts worth 5 million dollars.
