About Jaime Gilrein
Currently I am the Mangrove Fish Project Manager at the Everglades Science Center with the National Audubon Society in Tavernier, Florida. My passion for conservation of our sensitive ecosystems has led me into the Everglades where I assist teams in discovering new insights into the health of the Florida Bay. I manage a team of researchers that trek into the Everglades and Southern Biscayne Bay where we collect prey fish that wading birds, like the Roseatte Spoonbill, need to survive.I am a team focused and goal oriented type of leader. I value the input of my team as well as constructive criticismI am a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. I served 6 years as a Search and Rescue Captain as well as a Federal Boarding Officer. After completion my active duty tour I settled in Key west and completed my Associates in Science at the Florida Keys Community College. My passion for diving and corals led me NOAA Buoy Team within the National Marine Sanctuary based in Key West. Currently I am a degree seeking student with FIU in Business Management as part of my continuing education and self-development.
