I am the co-founder of Make Mee Studio CIC We teach sewing and creative textile workshops to adults and children in Lewisham. Our aim is to offer workshops that are as inclusive and accessible, and as environmentally and socially beneficial as possible. I have almost 10 years experience facilitating creative workshops. I have experience working mix of different audiences, from school children to older people (including those in vulnerable groups, having taught at homeless shelters and multiple community workshops.) I have a lot of patience and experience tailoring workshops to the needs of the individuals I am working with and have a friendly and approachable nature. I consider myself a sustainable fashion activist and keep up to date campaigns and changes in the industry. I gained a Masters degree at Chelsea College of Art focused on sustainable textile design. I have been involved with environmentally conscious clothing and textile projects for almost 10 years, having worked for an ethical fabric supplier, the textile recycling charity Traid and as a freelance sewing teacher. I think the most effective way to create change is to spread knowledge in a friendly and accessible way. I am also a advocate for harnessing the power of creativity for improving mental and physical health.
