Northcentral University is a one-on-one mentor program. I am writing a book to publish when I finish. I need the credibility of an education in the field and the credentials to publish my book from an informed perspective. My ideas center around long-term anxiety relief (including anxiety and panic attacks) including OCD; and Dopamine and reward-driven learning and how to increase dopamine levels without medication; when to take meds and when to try everything else first; and how to get better--by putting in the work. I have an informed perspective on this.

Quarterly Board Report to Corporate required chart review on random sample selected by HHC of type II Diabetics with indicators that were under poor control, to ensure our physicians were medicating patients optimally and to find the root cause of the A1C of concern (most often due to patient noncompliance); Prepared for Dept of Health site visits; reviewed PI (Performance Improvement) presentations which were concucted continually--on a departmental rotation schedule; Oversaw Health Literacy Grant which engaged volunteers to review with non-English-speaking patients instructions for their medications (the patient population was reflective of the breakdown of the Lower East Side Location: 1/3 Hispanic, 1/3 Chinese, 1/3 White and African-American); As part of the Department Team, coworkers and I developed on Wellness Campaigns, such as smoking cessation; Conducted a national web-based survey on Pay for Performance as it was newly emerging in Hospitals in 2006.

Started working in a busy HIV/AIDS practice part-time during college filing papers and helping with front desk duties (more than one person is needed behind the front desk). Within 6 months Dr. Bellman put me in charge of the second drug trial (only 1 HIV antiviral medication was FDA-approved at the time--this was the early 90s which only those of us who were there know/knew how brutal AIDS was and how most patients didn't come in until they were terminal). After that, I was running as many as 4 or more open trials at a time. In 1995 upon my graduation, I took over the Medical Transcription and became a full-time staff member until 2000 when I was ill and had to leave due to disability. In that time I assisted (transcription and editing) Dr. Bellman with the publication of an observational study on the efficacy of a specific drug therapy combination--as far as I am concern that man was the leading innovator in using the combination therapy that practioners now all take as standard. I also assisted with his reports on the bi-annual World AIDS Conference, which ran over a hundred pages each and were written, produced and distrubuted to patients for free at Dr. Bellman's financial expense. I had various other duties, writing letters of Medical Necessity for patients to get benifits or proof of disability, and any other task given to me by Dr. Bellman, which I welcomed as a way of forwarding his groundbreaking work and superior care of patients living with HIV and AIDS.
