My role at Room&Board as Design Associate combines superior project management abilities, an exacting eye for design, space planning, insightful communication and extensive knowledge in sustainable furniture manufacturing. I am proud to be a part of this dynamic company and truly heartfelt team. I am passionate about our Sustainability initiatives and host presentations to staff at our location on this subject.In addition, I currently serve as Director of Operations and Communications for the Heliotrope Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose projects use art and sustainable design to uplift communities.In communications and working with people, I am dedicated to my courteous and personable nature and enjoy connecting with people on a meaningful level to educate and inform. I have over six years of teaching experience, in both non-profit and for-profit organizations, in addition to working in education administration.Sustainability and wildlife conservation are close to my heart, both in my work as well as my interests outside of work. I'm looking forward to an upcoming volunteer work trip to an elephant sanctuary in Thailand to gain first-hand experience in the mission to protect this beautiful species. World travel and language studies are a particular interest of mine. I'm currently enjoying my introductory language studies in Kiswahili.

Founded by artist Caledonia Curry, aka Swoon, Heliotrope Foundation's mission is to help communities respond and heal after natural disasters and other urgent social crises. Heliotrope's Konbit Shelter project in Haiti began in response to the 2010 earthquake, building a series of sustainable homes and a community center in collaboration with the rural community of Cormiers. We also support weekly after school education programs for kids in the village, bolstering their academic studies as well as projects in art, culture, well-being and health. My Role & Responsibilities:Oversee management of our youth education programs in Haiti, working in close coordination with our Program Manager based in Haiti. Creating meaningful community engagement through social media and newsletters.Managed two successful Kickstarter campaigns to fund our initiatives: $79,000 raised in 2022 for renovations on the 19th century Braddock Church in Pittsburgh, PA. $85,500 raised in 2017 for the construction of a sustainable home in the village of Cormiers, Haiti. Event planning and production for fundraisers, to include: Art fairs, Pop-up art exhibitions, in-person and online art auctions, guest speaker panels.Production coordination with our artisan partners in Haiti to produce fair trade, hand-made crafts that raise funds for our programming while creating well paid work for local Haitian artisans.Grant WritingOnline shop management.Website administrator.
