Jaime Ubilla (PhD) is a lecturer in law at University of California at Davis, where he focuses on transnational - global law and international business transactions. Previously he taught Jurisprudence, Legal Sociology and Global Law. His academic research covers legal theory, social theory, sociology of private law, transnational law, global law and biodiversity law.He is the founder of Ubilla & Co. Attorneys and Counselors, with offices in Chile and China; and he handles local and international projects with a focus on transnational - global legal matters. He advises transnational projects, specially related to clean technology as well as various projects that connect Asia and Latin America (i.e. international trade, technology licensing, joint ventures). He has advised projects taking place in 4 continents, with multijurisdiction complexities. He has also developed legal solutions that promote sustainability through the integration of environmental and social intangibles - also referred to as the integration of ‘natural capital’ and ‘social capital’.He has also advised many ecosystem´s conservation projects and CO2 Projects. In this context he has advised various international conservation NGOs and social business entrepreneurs. He is the founder and director of the Conservation Law Center of Chile and the Conservation Right Foundation. Dr. Jaime Ubilla is the original proposer and drafter of the new 'conservation property right' (Law 20.930 of Chile) as he proposed and drafted its main legal provisions in the legislative process in the Senate of Chile. He has been a member of the World Environmental Law Commission of the IUCN. Ubilla & Co.
