Brain Portal: Designing Multimedia Displays for Duke Neuroscience

Engage in graphic production (design, photography), video production (editing, videography), and social media management for marketing, promotion, and story-telling purposes.

Create professional graphics and videos to direct traffic to websites, encourage donations, increase brand awareness, and launch ThinkGive initiatives. Projects include creating an impact page, fundraising graphics, establishing brand assets, and designating educator partners (schools and organizations).

Selected to participate in the RISE Fellowship Program. Goals included gaining knowledge of how mission-driven, social-impact organizations function, developing essential leadership and professional skills, and engaging in mentoring relationships and networking. Activities included seminars, mentorship, networking, individualized coaching, and peer learning.

Summer role. Scribed case studies presented at the Annual Aspen Conference on Pediatric Cerebrovascular Disease and Stroke.

Created my own graphic design business to perform professional freelance graphic design work for a variety of clients including:- Kind Eye Publishing - Created a professional logo for Kind Eye Publishing’s Crackerjack, a magazine that features young authors and artists. Crackerjack is operated in Cincinnati, Ohio. Also created book cover for Kind Eye Publishing for Sam and Gnome Save the World.- Rani Dasi - Developed campaign logo, signs, and business cards for local CHCCS School Board Member Rani Dasi for her successful re-election campaign. - Dr. Emily Hannon, Duke Pediatrics - Created a flyer distributed to parents of newborns at Duke Hospital. The flyer encouraged parents to read, sing and talk with their children using a campaign called Read! Sing! Talk!.- Perigen - Medical, prenatal software monitoring company. Developed a logo and graphic for an awareness campaign entitled Made You Look. Also designed a custom Zoom background graphic for the sales team. Also created a product showcase. - Winmore Salon - Developed an updated website for a local salon run by Angela Esperon.- @Jaigraphcs - Company over social media that created personalized sports graphics and graduation graphics for high school and college athletes, acquired almost $200 in profits.- Custom Team Jersey Design - Collaborated with BE Ultimate to deliver fully sublimated products, over $2,000 in sales.- Project Graduation - Designed outreach posters, Save the Date graphics, and tickets for Project Graduation

Selected to participate in an immersive experience in research methodology and writing. Coauthored two manuscripts investigating the risk factors of select gastrointestinal diseases among premature infants (one being a cohort study using a multicenter electronic medical record database) and received instruction from Duke faculty on research ethics, biostatistics, and scientific writing.

Created numerous biomedical graphics for a peer-reviewed journal website. Graphics included COVID-19 and pediatric stroke topics.
