I lead the Technology Front-end Capability across Digitas North America offices (Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco and NY), as well as the different teams distributed in our offices in Costa Rica, India and Colombia. The Front-End Capability at Digitas can be divided in different areas that require an additional level of specialization due to their nature:- Front-ends embedded in a CMS (e.g. Drupal, EPiServer, Wordpress, AEM and Sitecore)- Custom application powered by a custom back-end or by a headless CMS (e.g. Single Page Applications, Server Side Rendering or Static Site Generation)- Front-end frameworks research. (e.g. React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, Stencil)We partner with our clients and the other capabilities to determine the best approach for each project keeping in mind their needs and performance of the final product. This usually derives in a mix approach depending on the marketing technologies used by our clients and the kind of integration required between front end and back end. We also collaborate very closely with the UI/UX team to come up with the best experience for each product we create since we're ultimately responsible for the functional and interactive implementation the end user sees. One of my main areas of focus involves constantly improving our practices as capability, be on the lookout for new technologies and techniques constantly evaluating and choosing the right moment to try them, designing and implementing the architecture of projects that are starting, assisting other capabilities during scoping, recruiting and planning to ensure the best possible execution, and constantly connecting and mentoring the different developers that are part of our teams to foster better communication and proactive feedback.
