As of June I have been accepted as a Scenic Carpenter with IATSE LOCAL 891. Current status is as a permittee, and I am very excited be applying my skills for some new unique and creative projects. This is not going to be full time until I gather up enough shifts to qualify for union membership, so I am available to take on other roles in the meantime.

Occasionally contracts come up with Sigma-1 for rigging, routing and load balancing intelligent lighting systems, lasers, projectors, and loudspeaker systems for events such as a Halftime Show for the PFC Soccer Game Aired on CBC 29/04/2019, Assembled a Film Scene for a Mock Concert Stage for a Britany Spears Music Video with Controlled Lighting, Projections and Distributed Fog/Haze for Enhanced Laser effects, and Provided Atmospheric Intelligent Lighting and High Fidelity Audio for Hootsuite.com staff for their hot springs Christmas weekend event. I am often responsible for configuring speakers and operating the audio mixer and stage equipment for these events.

Richmond, Bc

Fabrication of Custom Staging, Artistic Props and Theater Flats for Trade Shows, Corporate Events, and Theater. Built according to designs specified in blueprint drawings and measurements. Used various materials such as Acrylics, ABS, PVC, OSB, Steel, and Wood. One of my projects was a light box stair set, with LED strips inset beneath the nosing in a dado cut that were then connected to a DMX control interface.

This company was founded by one of the G-Form Project Managers who I worked under. Eventually, he, and most of the other crew went back to G-Form, but I was determined to do something different.

Vancouver/Richmond

Primarily Form-work for high-rises. Columns, Walls, Slabs, Footings, ‘knockouts’ for, drainage, electrical lines, HVAC, or plumbing. Besides form-work, I did some Residential Framing, and Architectural Form-work Carpentry, and some experience building stairs. Also some renovations (including a project in which we moved an entire floor of a building down a couple feet using a matrix of shores and stringers)

New West Minister Skytrain Station

As part of an embellishment project for the New West Minister Skytrain Station, i did planing, cutting and treating of high quality maple and other hard woods, to create lattice decorations and anchor bolted the finished product into the ceiling of the upstairs walkway. i was also helping to fabricate the planter boxes that are still there today.
