- Responsible Engineer for NewtonFour Engine, Second Stage Engine on LauncherOne ( RP-1 / LOx Gas Generator Cycle )- RE on console for over 60 N4 hotfire tests, 3000+ sec run time; trained 3 new hires to be proficient, independent engine REs- Lead the development, test, and flight of NewtonFour engine product line, ensuring the engine system meets design intent and system requirements- Evaluate real-time telemetry and system-wide engine health; give go / no-go decisions during active hotfire testing- Coordinated training of new-hire responsible engineers in engine operations and test practices, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity- Responsible Engineer of N4 SN003 and N4 SN005, second stage engine flown on 1st and 2nd successful orbital flights- Run development and acceptance test hotfires, for both dev and production flight engines- Communicate between test facility and propulsion management for test / hardware readiness, objectives, schedule, and coordination

As the dedicated second stage propulsion intern, I worked on projects that directly supported NewtonFour, the second stage rocket engine of LauncherOne, Virgin Orbit's air-launched rocket. My main project involved performing FEA and modal analysis on NewtonFour's plumbing to verify the tubing for flight. To perform this process, I utilized NX and Ansys extensively. Other projects included designing, building, and executing tests to gather data on: pull-out strength of aluminum honeycomb threaded inserts; bond strength of 3D-printed clevises; gas generator inlet CdA data via waterflow testing; deterioration of rupture pressure for hot-fired flex hoses.

- Senior design project to design, build, and fly a remote controlled aircraft simulating a regional passenger plane- Lead on design of wing comprising of balsa and 3D-printed components- Came in 27th out of 100 teams at Wichita, KS flight competition

I performed additive manufacturing research on a team for the Naval Engineering Education Consortium (NEEC). The main project I completed was to create a recycling system for 3D printing. This system could take either bulk plastic pellets or ground-up failed prints and extrude it into filament, and finally wind it on a spool. This could then be fed directly into a 3D printer for reuse in new parts. Additionally, I worked on printing carbon fiber/ABS dog-bone specimens for tensile testing to evaluate variability and mechanical properties of additive manufactured composites.

I worked as an intern in the Operability group in Propulsion System Analysis on the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter engine program. My role as an intern was to help Operability validate and transition to the new F135 engine performance model. I performed steady-state and transient analyses in Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS) and analyzed the data in Unigraph. I built skills in coding, data manipulation, and analysis, as well as gaining the real world experience of working in an engineering office environment.

In October 2014, I helped restart the Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEPi) chapter at the University of Tennessee as a Founding Father. Spring 2015, I served as secretary on executive board. Fall 2015 and Spring 2016, I served as treasurer on executive board. For the 2016-2017 academic year, I served as president of the chapter. Throughout my time on the exec board, I presented to the UT Interfraternity Council to get successfully voted onto the council as an official campus organization. As president, I planned our first philanthropy raising, $1800 dollars for the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. Throughout my term, I learned valuable skills in management, organization, and leadership.

Studied abroad in London for 5 weeks taking thermodynamics and circuits with 25 other University of Tennessee students. Continued traveling for another 5 weeks after my study abroad program. Countries visited in Summer 2016 include: England, Scotland, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy. Other Int'l Travel Experience: Ecuador, Canada, Israel, Vietnam
