I am an ICAEW chartered accountant with twelve years’ practice and industry experience including managing teams. I am currently employed by Wincanton Plc as the Financial Process and Controls Manager responsible for preparing the business for the imminent implementation of UK SOX requirements. I am responsible for internal controls which involves collaboration with all departments to identify and remediate control weaknesses. I have general overall responsibility for finance policy, delegated authorities, process standardisation, control testing and remediation, and external audit remediation. I am trained to an expert level with Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot tables, formulas such as V-look ups, and macros and use these daily to analyse data and use this to drive actions to remediate control weaknesses. Before joining Wincanton in October 2019, I had made a successful career specialising as a contractor being a valuable short to medium term asset to businesses by meeting reporting deadlines, filling gaps in teams, training staff, and delivering improvement projects. In doing so I have worked in numerous industries including professional services, insurance, fast moving consumer goods, manufacturing, investment, and wealth management.
