Mechanical Fitter

The main role of this job was to drive clients to and from the International airport of Geneva to the Ski resort of Port de Soleli, i would ensure the safe collection of clients from around the resort checking weather reports and traffic conditions to ensure that the journey would run as smoothly as possible, dealing with the public in this way was a great way to interact and make people excited about the week of snow ahead of them! I also ensured that the vehicle was well maintained everyday completing daily inspections and cleaning out after every drop off, ensuring that all repairs were booked in and completed to a good standard.

I was part of a 3 man process team working 12 hour shifts producing sulphuric acid and its derivatives on a COMAH registered chemical site. My key roles on the plant wereControlling the sulphuric acid production using a DCS control system to monitor the flow rates, pressures and temperatures across 7 processing plants. preparing equipment such as vessels,pumps,valves,heat exchangers, burners and pipework for work, with identification, isolation (blanks fitted/fuses removed) draining and purging.Carried out scheduled safety system tests and inspectionsControlled the import of molten sulphur (via road tanker) upto 15 per shift and export of all road tanker loads leaving the plant supervising and assisting with the load of tankers and cross checking all paperwork.Collected and tested samples in the lab using various lab eqiupment to ensure the plant was making to the correct specificationsAssisted in the shutdown and startup of the plant.Participated in weekly tool box talk sessions discussing dangerous situations and injuries within the industry how they can be prevented and ways we can make our plant safer

To assist in the operation of a tier 1 comah registered plant in the production of VC3 (vinyl chloride)

To maintain equipment all over the Ineos runcorn site. Based in the runcorn engineering workshop. I have worked on an array of items. Including compressors, control valves, pumps, fridges, fans and heat exchangers. Many of these jobs involved the removal of the equipment via crane therefore I am rigging and signaling trained aswell as being licensed to use a forklift. I have a detailed understanding of the internals of the equipment we use as I was stripping these items down and repairing them in the workshop before reassembly and refit back on the plant

Having completed 2 years broad based training at TTE. I was an apprentice in the runcorn site workshop spreading my time between the valve workshop pump workshop and machines team to give me a good all round knowledge of the equipment on site.
